Assign Evaluations
Admins, faculty, and preceptors create evaluation, skills checkoff, and (when enabled) voice simulation assignments from Create Assignments.
Overview
Open Create Assignments from Assignments (floating Create Assignment control) or go directly to the create page. Choose a tab for the assignment type your plan supports:
- Evaluations — form-based assessments of students, preceptors, or locations
- Skills Checkoffs — video demonstrations with AI-assisted grading
- Voice Sims — spoken clinical simulations (shown when voice sims are enabled for your institution)
Preceptors and faculty only assign within classrooms they belong to. Admins can assign across the institution.
Evaluations
- Select an evaluation template (student, preceptor, or location target).
- Choose a classroom (required for student/preceptor targets; optional for locations).
- Select one or more targets (who is evaluated).
- Choose evaluators (students, preceptors/admins) or Self Assessment.
- Set a due date (defaults to about a week out).
- Create the assignments. Each evaluator × target pair becomes one assignment (self-assessment creates one per target).
The form prevents someone from evaluating themselves unless you chose self-assessment. Completed work appears under Assignments.
Skills checkoffs
- Select one or more skills checkoff templates.
- Choose a classroom, then select students.
- Set a due date and create assignments.
Each template × student pair becomes one assignment. Students upload a video from Assignments; educators review AI results and finalize grades.
Voice Sims (when present)
- Open the Voice Sims tab.
- Select simulation template(s), classroom, and students.
- Set a due date (or use practice mode when offered).
- Create assignments. Credits may be required—see Billing if creation fails for insufficient credits.
Students complete sims from Assignments; educators review when sessions are ready.
Who can assign
| Role | Scope |
|---|---|
| Admin | Any classroom in the institution |
| Faculty / Preceptor | Classrooms where they are members |
Archived templates, classrooms, and users are not offered in the pickers.
Tips
- Assign by classroom so the right roster and due dates stay aligned.
- Use self-assessment when you want reflection before an educator review.
- Select multiple targets or templates in one pass instead of repeating the form.
- Buy or confirm voice sim credits before a large Sims assignment window.
Troubleshooting
No templates listed
Create or unarchive templates under Templates, or confirm your plan includes that assignment type.
No classrooms or students
Preceptors only see their classrooms. Confirm membership and that users are active.
Cannot create
Fill every required field, select at least one target (and evaluator unless self-assessment), and use a due date that is not in the past.
Voice Sims tab missing
Voice sims may be off for your institution or plan. Contact your admin or support.
