Templates

Templates is where institution administrators define the reusable forms and frameworks used across clinical logs, evaluations, skills, checkoffs, and curriculum mapping.

Overview

Open Templates from the main navigation. Tabs appear based on your plan and institution settings. Use this page as a hub: create or open a template here, then see the dedicated help article for that template type.

Some tabs (for example curriculum tabs or Voice Sims) only appear when your plan and institution features include them.

Shared list behaviors

Across template tabs you can typically:

  • Search by name (and clear the search when done)
  • Filter active vs archived templates (admins)
  • Sort by clicking column headers
  • Open a template by clicking its row or using Edit in the actions menu
  • Archive / unarchive templates you no longer want in day-to-day pickers (prefer archive over delete when history matters)

Duplicate is available on Skills, Evaluations, and Clinical Logs templates so you can copy a working template and adjust it.

Typical workflow

  1. Open Templates and choose the tab for the template type you need.
  2. Create a new template or open an existing one.
  3. Configure content in the editor (fields, questions, skills, competencies, and so on).
  4. Assign or link the template where it is used—for example clinical log templates on a classroom, evaluation/checkoff templates from Create Assignments, or curriculum templates for mapping.

Tips

  1. Name templates by purpose and audience (rotation, level, or accreditation year) so pickers stay readable.
  2. Archive unused templates instead of deleting when past assignments still reference them.
  3. Duplicate a proven template when you need a close variant.
  4. Stabilize your Competency Map before large skills, evaluation, or CO/PO mapping projects.

Troubleshooting

Expected tab is missing
Confirm you are an institution administrator and that your plan includes that feature (for example Vision Checkoffs, curriculum tabs, or Voice Sims).

Cannot find a template
Clear search, switch the archive filter to Archived or All, and confirm you are on the correct tab.

Students do not see a clinical log form
Assign the Clinical Logs template on the classroom. See Clinical-Log-Templates and Classrooms.

  • Classrooms: Clinical log template assignment and roster context
  • Assign-Evaluations: Assign evaluation, Vision checkoff, and voice sim templates
  • Reports: Export activity and template catalogs
  • Course-Objectives / Program-Outcome-Templates: Curriculum mapping stack
