Self-Study Reports

Self-studies help you prepare accreditation documentation with uploaded evidence and AI-assisted narratives. They live under Accreditation → Self Studies—not as a top-level “Self-Studies” nav item.

Overview

Open Accreditation from the main navigation, then the Self Studies tab. Create a self-study for an accrediting body and cycle, upload evidence, draft standards with AI assistance, and export a final package.

Self-studies are available on plans that include accreditation (Intelligence). If you see an upgrade prompt, check Billing or contact sales.

Create a self-study

  1. Go to Accreditation → Self Studies.
  2. Create a new self-study with a name, accreditation body (for example CCNE or ACEN), and cycle.
  3. Open the self-study portal.

Standards for the selected body are imported automatically so you can begin uploading evidence and drafting.

Portal workflow

Upload documents

Upload handbooks, policies, syllabi, outcome data, faculty credentials, and other evidence (PDF, Word, and common image types). Wait until documents show as ready before you rely on them for drafting.

You can also sync recent Agents insight reports into the evidence library when that option is available, so institutional reports can be cited alongside uploaded files.

Draft standards with AI

Standards appear grouped by standard / substandard. For one standard—or in bulk from the portal menu—run the AI agent to research your evidence library, draft a narrative, and bind citations.

Statuses move through research, drafting, auditing, and completed (or error). Reset a standard if you need a clean re-run after major evidence changes.

Always edit AI drafts. You remain responsible for accuracy and accreditation fit.

Final draft and export

Review the assembled report, then download the package (typically a Word report plus referenced evidence). Keep your own copies for the visit team and institutional archives.

Managing self-studies

From the Self Studies list you can open a portal, edit name/cycle, or delete a self-study. Deleting removes drafts, evidence bindings, and related work for that study—prefer careful naming and archival practices over deletion when a cycle is still active.

Tips

  1. Upload and finalize evidence before large AI runs.
  2. Draft in batches for large standards sets so review stays manageable.
  3. Verify every citation against the source document.
  4. Re-export after significant edits so the ZIP matches your latest narrative.

Troubleshooting

Accreditation or Self Studies unavailable
Confirm your institution is on a plan that includes accreditation (Intelligence) and that you have access. Admins also see the SEP tab on Accreditation when eligible.

Documents stuck processing
Retry the document from the upload list. Confirm file type and size, then wait a few minutes.

AI agent will not start
Ensure evidence documents are ready (not still processing). Reset the standard and try again, or add more relevant evidence first.

Standards missing after create
Confirm the accreditation body is supported and reopen the portal. Contact support if standards still do not appear.
